My mentality when working is to always put the director and their vision first. I enjoy creating a space on set where the director, actors, and camera can react and respond. It's a beautiful thing when all the elements—actors, blocking, lighting, and camera—can come together in a wonderful harmony, often with spontaneity. If one fights another too much, then something is out of balance. More often than not, the answer lies in simplification.
